Temple Shir Tikvah is a relaxed community that explores what Judaism has to say about life and tries to put the learning into action. We are a Reform congregation of over 300 member families from Winchester, Arlington, Lexington, Stoneham, Medford, Reading, Cambridge and many other surrounding towns. Our members represent diverse religious backgrounds, practices, beliefs, and family structures. We understand that there’s no one way to live Jewishly, and so we engage in an ongoing dialog that helps us build closer connections with each other and with Judaism as each of us understands it over time.
We encourage every member, Jewish or not, to get involved in meaningful ways. Our members are engaged in spiritual exploration, learning of all sorts, social action, music, casual adult social events, family activities, and even summer camping. Our well-respected Religious School of about 175 students spans pre-school through confirmation, and Sunday mornings include plenty of opportunities for parents to study, too.
There’s always something happening at Shir Tikvah and you’re invited. Sing with us at Friday Shabbat services (We’re big on singing.) or come to other events that might help you begin to imagine what being part of this community could mean in your life. Everyone needs a community to share joys and to ease sorrows. Find out if we’re the right one for you.
