Founded in 2002 as the first academic center of its kind, the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education at Brandeis University is dedicated to improving Jewish education through rigorous study of the core practices of teaching and learning. The Center is the home of groundbreaking research projects and programs of professional development. Key current projects include: Beit Midrash Research Project Bridging Scholarship and Pedagogy Choosing to Teach DeLeT Longitudinal Survey DeLeT/MAT Program Induction Partnership The Mandel Center is a partnership between the Mandel Foundation of Cleveland, Ohio, and Brandeis University, which has enabled Brandeis to establish the Center’s home on the Brandeis campus and to recruit talented researchers and teacher educators to carry out a distinctive program of research and professional development.
