Congregation Eitz Chayim is proud to be bringing Miryam Kabakov, editor of Keep Your Wives Away from Them, to Cambridge for a book reading on Dec 20. Keep Your Wives Away from Them gives voice to genderqueer Jewish women who were once silenced – and effectively rendered invisible – by their faith. In keeping with Eitz Chayim’s wish to collaborate with our Cambridge and Somerville sister organizations, Havurat Shalom and Temple Beth Shalom are co-sponsoring. Our goal is to provide safe spaces for LGBTQ Jews to meet, learn, talk and worship in the Cambridge/Somerville area. The book reading follows on two very successful LGBTQ – friendly Kabbalat Shabbat services with potluck dinner at Eitz Chayim.
136 Magazine Street, Cambridge. Dessert at 7pm, reading at 7:30pm. Books will be available for sale and for signing.
