The FD will lead all day-to-day finance operations of a budget of $2.5 million and supervise a small team with functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, donor contributions, and grants administration. The FD will ensure that JFS has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. The FD prepares and supports presentations to the CEO and management staff; to the board and to the board’s budget and finance committee; and to internal and external stakeholders. The FD will work closely with the senior leadership team in all aspects of business and organizational operations.

In addition, s/he will partner with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and other leadership to enhance and better integrate finance, HR, and IT functions. The FD will also have a principle role in the implementation of performance management metrics and best practices in financial management.

The position will start by October 1, 2015 so that there is training and a smooth transition with the current Director who is retiring.

This is an extraordinary opportunity in a healthy, mission-driven organization for an energetic, enthusiastic, talented leader with five plus years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders. The FD will ideally have experience in a complex nonprofit that has multiple programs and funding streams. Experience in preparing audited financial statements required.
