Jewish Cooking is trendy these days, with many young chefs and bloggers creating kosher and unkosher dishes that play on tradtional favorties. As trendy as it is, it also an incredibly broad category, much of which is often overlooked and underestimated. While most of us probably imagine matzah balls and bagels first, the world of Jewish foods is so much broader than the often underseasoned but still well loved classics. With an explosion is current Jewish food trend blogs, it’s no wonder that so many of us are fascinated by food, chefs, and what exactly qualifies as Jewish food. New Center NOW endeavors into this Jewish culinary imagination every year with Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen, where Boston’s favorite chefs envision their own modern takes on the traditions. The New Center NOW Cooking Circle has taken that exploration a step further in the last year, creating smaller scale cooking classes and hands on opportunities with a variety of teachers and chefs. An evening with Israel’s beloved food critic Janna Gur, to rugelach baking, to the BBK Challenge cooking competition, the Cooking Circle is creating unique and fun opportunities for those of us who love to cook and explore what Jewish Cooking really means.

Continuing on the path of exploring the may faces of Jewish Cooking, we have 2 of our most exciting opportunities yet coming up in the next few weeks:
