Tisha B’Av is a day of fasting and mourning in Jewish tradition, lamenting past times of destruction and loss. But the tradition also has hints that allow for a more universal time of mourning. On this day, Rabbi Katy Allen of Ma’yan Tikvah will lead us as in reading from the traditional text, the Book of Lamentations, and share our grief for the destruction of the Earth, as well as other grief we may feel in response to the world around us. This event is open to all, and will be welcoming for all faith traditions. Donations to cover costs will be welcomed but are not required.
Event Location: Democracy Center
