March 28, 2015 0

In this workshop, we will explore some of the basic questions of identity: Who are we, and how can we express ourselves in ways encompass both our individuality and our connections with others? Our guide in this exploration will be Walt Whitman, whose most famous poem, “Song of Myself,” offers many ways understanding, defining and expressing who we are.

Dr. Joy Ladin (KI’s scholar in residence) is a professor of English at Stern College for Women of Yeshiva University and is the first openly transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution.
