“The Making of Markova” – A Talk with Author Tina Sutton

March 22, 2015 Wayland 0

Co-sponsored with Framingham-Natick Hadassah, author Tina Sutton, longtime fashion, arts and culture writer for the Boston Globe, joins us to discuss her highly acclaimed biography of Alicia Markova, a frail Jewish girl who became the unlikeliest of ballet stars.

Born in 1910 with flat feet, knock knees and weak legs, Lilian Alicia Marks went on to become one of the greatest ballerinas of the 20th century. This inspiring story is about her fortitude and reinvention, and her journey from the Ballets Russes, Balanchine and Matisse to international stardom.
This is a free event! All are welcome. Coffee and pastries will be served. RSVPs are not required but help us plan for this event. Email sisterhood@congregationoratid.org.
