How can we, as Jews and Christians, best explore teachings of universalism and particularism within and across our religious traditions, cultivating an appreciation of our commonalities and differences? What educational tools are available to us for grappling honestly with ambiguity and conflict? What of our theological and historical teachings can help us in this vital search for meaningful and productive engagement across religious lines?
The discussion will include presentations by the Rev. Martin Copenhaver, senior pastor of Wellesley Congregational Church UCC and president-elect of Andover Newton Theological School, and Hebrew College trustee Sara Lee, professor emerita of Jewish education at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
Andover Newton professor Robert Pazmino and Rabbi Michael Shire, dean of the Shoolman Graduate School of Education at Hebrew College, will serve as moderators.
