Selichot Program and Prayers

September 12, 2015 Newton 0

Join the Temple Reyim congregation for a viewing of the award winning Israeli film “Ushpizin” followed by a discussion led by Rabbi Berman, with Selichot services beginning at 11:00 p.m.

Called “groundbreaking” by the New York TImes, Ushpizin is a rare collaboration between secular and ultra-Orthodox Israelis that is both sympathetic and humorously critical. It tells the story of Moshe and Malli, an impoverished, childless, Hasidic baal teshuva (“returnee to Judaism”) couple who have prayed for a child. Suddenly miracles abound!
