Boston is a city of many distinct populations, and Jamaica Plain is one neighborhood where several of those populations intersect. Irish, Hispanic, black, hipster, crunchy-granola vegan…whatever you’re looking for, you just might find it in JP. Even though it was founded in 1988–more than a century after the opening of our most recent BIG Pub Tour location, the Marliave–the Brendan Behan is an Irish pub that’s known for seeming like an actual Irish pub, unlike the faux-Irish pubs that dot (or plague) Boston and just about every other city in the Western world.
Look for the Israeli flag!
