SAVE THE DATE for the L’Chaim Group of Temple Emanuel’s thought- provoking afternoon of discussion with local Newton resident Marian Leah Knapp, Ph.D, author of AGING in PLACES, Reflective Preparation for the Future, who will speak about The Places in Which We Age: our society, culture, families, and within ourselves, on Tuesday, December 9th, at 1pm, in Reisman Hall at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton Centre.
At age 64, Marian Leah Knapp, writer and community activist, enrolled in the Environmental Studies doctoral program at Antioch University New England, to investigate the total environment in which people age. She obtained her degree in 2009 shortly after her 70th birthday. Her goal was to use what she learned to benefit the community and those who were aging along with her. Now , she writes a column for the Newton TAB from the perspective of an older adult who knows from profound personal experiences the realities of that life- stage.
Dr. Knapp lives in Newton and is a dedicated advocate for seniors.
