The glorification of thin, athletic women by today’s media has led many to sacrifice their health to achieve those ideals. A combination of over-exercise, under-eating, and sometimes stress can lead to the shutdown of a woman’s reproductive system. Without a period it’s hard to get pregnant; other repercussions include weakened bones, heart disease, and early cognitive decline.

Nicola Rinaldi, Ph.D., and Stephanie Buckler, Esq., The authors of No Period. Now What? join us for a discussion after Minyan on Thursday, July 7 to explain in easy-to-understand terms how eating, exercise, and stress are related to the menstrual cycle, along with recommendations for fertility treatment, pregnancy, and long-term health.

Dr. Alison Dick will also be there to answer any medical questions! Minyan will begin at 7:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of The Ladle Fund. Questions? Contact Stephanie Buckler at
