Divine Majesty: A Glorious Revival of 19th-Century Synagogue Music

November 17, 2015 0

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Joshua Jacobson, and with Cantor Peter Halpern of Temple Shalom as soloist, you will hear some of the most glorious synagogue music ever written, music that has disappeared from many synagogues. These awe-inspiring melodies, composed by such illuminaries as Sulzer, Lewandowski and Naumbourg, were created for the Torah service and meant to represent the glorious revelation at Sinai.

Divine Majesty is made possible by an anonymous underwriter in memory of Mary Wolfman Epstein and Cantor Barney Mould.

Event Location: Temple Shalom
175 Temple Street, West Newton, Newton, Massachusetts, 02465
