Congregation Or Yisrael Hosts the Temple Mount Sifting Project

May 26, 2015 $0.00 - $10.00 0

The Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the site of the First and Second Temples, has never been subject to formal archeological excavation. The Muslim trust which manages the site, however, has removed about 400 truckloads of soil from the Temple Mount during construction projects. In 2004, Israeli archaeologists established a project for sifting this debris, and special installations were set up in order to allow volunteers and visitors to participate. To date, more than 150,000 people have taken part in the sifting.

In the past 10 years the Temple Mount Sifting Project has become an inexhaustible source of knowledge for the research and study of the archaeology and history of the Temple Mount. Please join us for an evening with the project’s archeologists.

Andover Newton Theological School, 210 Herrick Road (next to Hebrew College), Newton, Massachusetts, 02459
