The Torch Bearers
The Tribute Celebration is a reference to the Biblical heroine, Deborah, who was a Judge, Prophet, Poet, and a Warrior. She was an exemplar of Leadership generally, and a model of women’s leadership. The text names her Eshet Lapidot (Judges 4:4) which can be translated as a Torch Bearer.
Rabbi Jessica Kate Meyer, who has appeared in film, theater, and television throughout Europe and the US, will perform at the Torch Bearer Celebration. Rabbi Meyer pursued graduate theater in London, and has performed with numerous artists; she also had a principal role in Roman Polanski’s “The Pianist”,. Rabbi Meyer is the Assistant Rabbi and co-musical director at New York City’s Romemu, where people of all genders and ages participate equally and fully in song, dance, learning and praying.+ More... - Less...
