David Eisenberg – Guardian of Israel Award Recipient
David Eisenberg is a member of JNF’s New England Executive Board of Directors, a proud Herzl Society member and Vice Chair of the Arava Institute & Hazon Israel Ride. Professionally, David oversees investment consulting services to U.S. wealth management providers as a partner at Mercer Investments. David and his wife, Fran Caplan, have been active members at Temple Aliyah of Needham since 1984, where he currently serves on the board. Their children Adam, Benji, Sara, and Josh, all proud graduates of Solomon Schechter Jewish Day School and Prozdor, each became a B’nai Mitzvah at Temple Aliyah, where David celebrated his Bar Mitzvah in 2007. David was introduced to JNF in 1983, when his stepfather, Rabbi Morris Gordon z”l, was honored at a JNF dinner in Washington, D.C. The Rabbi Morris and Lori Gordon JNF Forest, planted in their honor, is located in Bar Giora, Israel. David first joined Team JNF on the Arava Institute & Hazon Israel Ride in 2005 and will participate for the ninth time this November. David is also a 12-time Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) rider and is Captain of PMC Team ASPS (Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma).
Through your generosity, proceeds from our event will enable the construction of an outdoor classroom
in memory of David’s nephew, Guy Bar-Yosef, at The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, a Jewish National Fund partner.
