The story of an unlikely friendship. Ruth, a Holocaust survivor and retired cabaret singer, lives a solitary life. Twenty-nine year old Jonas just broke up with his girlfriend and was diagnosed with a serious illness. Neither Ruth nor Jonas can see any reason to live. But, in a May-December friendship reminiscent of Harold and Maude, Ruth and Jonas become each other’s sources of strength as they uncover each other’s secrets and look back on their own pasts.
